Hi Hugh (Grant): What a coincidence. I seldom hear from Grayson but he came to mind this weekend and I sent off an email to the only place I thought I might be able to find him and that was at his office. Only to discover the horrible news that he passed away last week. Unfortunately my email to him was not all that great either as I was informing him that last week I was diagnosed as having inoperable cancer of the pancreas. Funny how short life can be at times eh. Of course I could never, ever forget the time we had as young men and the wonderful experience that was provided to us all through the Young Men's Ad and Sales Club (by the way, it was you who introduced me to that club). Graydon was such an active guy in the club and as I came to know and love him, I developed such a respect for his superior knowledge. I loved his crazy attitude but at the time and later in life developed complete respect for his financial advice. Even to this day, I still deal with Greg O'Connell a guy who eventually bought his book of business at RBC. At an early age in life I gave each of my boys a copy of his book Financial Knowledge. They are all now in the financial services business as advisors and each of them earn over $200k per year. He has kept in touch through the years -- and for sure his has always been the Christmas update that we have looked forward to -- as you never knew what to expect. We were fortunate enough to be able to meet up with him at our home here in Florida a number of years ago and that was nice. And now I find myself about to follow in his footsteps. I am sure you will be at his funeral, so if any of the old guys want to send him a message I will be pleased to deliver it soon. As far as Sheila and me are concerned, we are OK with everything and Sheila will be financially secure for the rest of her life. Of course I don't want to die, but the fact of the matter is I have no fear. I have crammed more into 64 years of life than most people could get into 164 years of life. I have a wonderful (and still very attractive) wife, 3 fine sons, an adopted daughter and 6 grandchildren. My career, spanned the role of salesman, sales manger, VP of Sales and Marketing and finally President of two international companies (we actually lived in London, England for 3 years) before finally becoming one of three partners in a firm that brought some software to market and was eventually purchased by a venture capital firm headed up by Bank of Boston. Graydon will be remembered forever. I am making a contribution to the Vasculitus Foundation of Canada but let me know if the old YMASC is doing anything that I could participate in as well. All the best, Terry ====================================
