"From Where I Sit! ... Ahhhh”
By Frank R. Gardiner.......... YMASC '67 to '72
Saturday, February 9th, 2007

“....and because of today's record snow storm… from "where we all shovel!”

Great fun lunch with the five YMASC Toronto Alumni that made it to our Yonge-Sherwood, North Toronto GABBY's informal lunch this past Wednesday.

In first attached Photo #1; l to r ... we have Terry, John, Brad, Frank and Hugh.

In second attached Photo #2: l to r ....we are pictured in the reserved upstairs YMASC Toronto Alumni room....Terry, Brad, (note poster “Brad thinks he has something to prove"), John (note; and James Dean poster) and Hugh.

Gary, Hugh and John deserve big praise for having fun and working to keep the old/young YMASC spirit alive with all their efforts over the past year and years.

None of us can go back so to speak, except in our memories, but it was fun to simply get together with old YMASC friends and share stories, up dates on family and laugh.

And as usual in true YMASC style the best agenda is simply no agenda.

Past fond memories of Mod Ball at Casa Loma, Sno -a Go Go at Heart Lake, Weekend in the Woods combined with current realities, stock tips, travel, diets, politics and family updates became our easy going "YMASC Toronto Alumni" agenda over a noticeable, much lesser consumption of beer than "the ol' days"

During this week’s lunch, some of us even volunteered to assist (?) if indeed we can call it that, and offered to send photos, articles and the odd column to our talented web master Gary McWilliams to make our "YMASC Toronto Alumni" a fun place to visit.

Each of us have stories from the past that somehow connect to the present and perhaps even the future and the fun of maturing like a good merlot is to "connect these dots" and share with others for no reason other than to smile and laugh together !

I have always enjoyed trying to communicate through my one finger typing and my years ago “From Where I Sit!" YMASC column was always then and now for me, a fun hobby done long before fax, e-mail, text messaging and web site.
Even today, with my home office e-mail, fax, and recently purchased “I POD shuffle" (as I do my early morning jog around the indoor track at Ryerson)... I enjoy tapping out my note to people whose company I enjoy.

TODAY, that company includes all past members of our YMASC. And John, if I could have figured out a way to insert a YMASC reference to my Globe & Mail tribute to the late Barry Morse... I would have… but that particular dot occurred before YMASC. IMAGINE! fg
